Ryan M. Donnelly
Criminal Defense Attorney | Former Prosecutor
Ryan M. Donnelly is a seasoned trial attorney with a passion for defending the accused and a deep commitment to justice. A graduate of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (Class of 2011), Ryan distinguished himself early by earning the highest marks in Evidence, Trial Advocacy, and Criminal Law. He was a standout member of the school’s Mock Trial Team, representing his law school at national competitions.
After graduating, Ryan began his legal career in Atlanta, working alongside some of the city’s most respected criminal defense attorneys. This experience gave him firsthand insight into high-level defense strategy and courtroom performance, laying the foundation for a well-rounded and battle-tested legal career.
In 2013, Ryan started work as an Assistant District Attorney with the Cherokee County DA’s Office. Over the next three years, he prosecuted a wide range of cases, from DUI and drug charges to aggravated assaults, child molestation, and other serious felonies. Between his time as a prosecutor and defense attorney, Ryan has handled thousands of criminal cases—ranging from traffic citations to the most serious violent felonies.
In 2016, Ryan left the courtroom temporarily to launch a real estate company with his wife Ashley. Over the next several years, they developed subdivisions and built dozens of custom homes throughout Cherokee County. Despite his success in business, Ryan always felt the pull of the courtroom and the calling to defend people in their most critical moments.
Today, Ryan has returned to full-time legal practice and teamed up with his former trial partner, Jay G. Wall, to provide aggressive, skilled, and personalized criminal defense. Whether in negotiations or at trial, Ryan brings his experience and relentless dedication to every client he represents. Outside of law, Ryan is a proud husband, father, and volunteer football coach with the Cherokee High School Junior Warriors, where he enjoys mentoring young athletes and giving back to the community that shaped him.

Real Client Cases
Bond Denied, Out in 30 Days in Cherokee County
“I was out in 30 days on charges that would normally take over 6 months to resolve.” – Shannon D.
The situation. A client was caught in a child custody fight where the other side used criminal charges that carried an automatic denial of bond, during one of the hardest periods of their life.
What the firm did. Jay Wall and Ryan Donnelly spent hours on the case, read the related civil pleadings, researched, and fought hard, taking the time to understand the client’s situation rather than the client’s reputation on paper.
The result. The client was out in 30 days on charges that would normally take more than six months to resolve.
